/The Challenge

Linoui was a premium artisanal cake brand with strong seasonal demand potential, but its digital growth engine was underdeveloped.

Before structured performance marketing, the brand had not meaningfully run online campaigns. Activity was limited largely to post boosts instead of proper paid acquisition. There was no strong analytics setup, no mature remarketing system, weak landing page selling, limited search presence, and very little premium storytelling to justify the higher product pricing.

The challenge was to scale Christmas sales significantly using a new ad account, new creatives, and a proper paid media system while also building the digital infrastructure needed to support repeatable seasonal growth.

Objective

The core objectives were to scale plum cake revenue, hit festive sales targets, improve ROAS, and dominate seasonal demand.

A major commercial goal was to achieve around 3x the previous year’s sales, taking festive revenue from roughly ₹7L to ₹21L+, and then continue building the system year after year for larger seasonal scale.

Baseline

Before the festive push, the previous year’s Christmas sales were approximately ₹6L to ₹7L.
Ad spend was around ₹2.5L.
Average order value was approximately ₹1,500.
Repeat customer share was around 10%.

At this stage, there were no proper search campaigns, no real remarketing setup, no email retention engine, and weak premium positioning across the site and ad creative.

What the Audit Revealed

The first major insight was that high-intent Christmas demand already existed, but the brand was not capturing it properly. Seasonal demand for plum cake and festive gifting was strong, yet the online business was only seeing around ₹7L in sales.

The account setup lacked structure, with only post boosts instead of actual campaign architecture. The landing page was weak, with thin information and limited selling power. Search demand was underutilized, with no proper search ads and no meaningful SEO support. Remarketing was barely used, and there was no email marketing or lifecycle setup to bring users back.

The product pricing was premium, but the brand did not feel premium enough online. Photography, copy, and product storytelling were not strong enough to justify the higher cost. Festive urgency was also missing, so the seasonal purchase window was not being fully leveraged.

Strategy

The strategy was to build a full-funnel festive growth engine across acquisition, conversion, and retention.

On Meta, the goal was to create demand, build awareness, and acquire new customers at scale. On Google, the goal was to capture high-intent seasonal demand and convert users actively searching for Christmas cakes and related products. Email marketing, WhatsApp marketing, and remarketing were added to improve repeat purchase behavior and recover missed demand.

At the same time, premium positioning had to be improved. That meant upgrading product photography, rewriting the copy, improving product pages, and making the site sell the cake as a premium festive product rather than simply an expensive one.

Execution

A fresh Meta ads setup was built with new imagery and proper campaign structure. Budget allocation followed a 70/30 split between Meta and Google, with Meta weighted more heavily because the priority was acquiring new customers and building a larger top-of-funnel audience pool.

Google campaigns were built from scratch, and Performance Max was launched to improve festive search reach and capture high-intent buyers.

Creative angles were rebuilt using stronger photography so that both the website and the ads felt more premium. Messaging was rewritten to sound more elevated and seasonal, and urgency was introduced through limited quantity language and festive framing.

The PDP and landing page experience were improved to better communicate ingredients, craftsmanship, quality, and the premium nature of the product. This helped support the pricing and improve conversion.

Remarketing ads were built for website visitors, while email remarketing was set up for past buyers. Tracking was fixed across Meta and Google, and marketing automation plus WhatsApp marketing were also added to improve follow-up and repeat conversion.

Results

During the festive period from November 15 to January 10, revenue increased to approximately ₹27L, successfully achieving the target of 3x growth from the earlier ~₹7L base.

In the most recent year, that festive revenue then scaled further from ₹27L to ₹91L, with overall campaign efficiency maintained at approximately 4.5x ROAS.

With an AOV of approximately ₹1,800, the ₹27L phase translates to roughly 1,500 orders, while the ₹91L phase reflects a significantly larger seasonal order volume and much stronger revenue engine.

This showed that the initial festive system was not just a one-season spike, but a scalable framework that could be expanded over successive years.

Why It Worked

The growth came from aligning multiple layers of the funnel rather than depending on ads alone.

Meta created demand and widened reach. Google captured high-intent festive demand. Better photography and stronger product storytelling improved premium perception. Stronger PDPs improved conversion. Email, WhatsApp, and remarketing helped recover visitors and drive repeat purchases.

That combination turned Linoui from a brand with limited seasonal online performance into a much stronger festive revenue machine.
